Guidelines for Use & Respecting our Farm

Helping Harvesters is a weeklong day camp program aimed to teach teenagers the importance in helping others while working in the garden and at a local soup kitchen. From growing and harvesting to feeding others and themselves, participants enjoy new experiences, make new friends and gain broader perspectives. During this week campers will learn more about those in need, the world around them, and, in turn, themselves.

Each day will begin with work in the garden; planting, weeding and harvesting the vegetables. From the garden, participants proceed to a soup kitchen where they help to prepare and serve lunch. Afternoons at the farm will allow for reflection, some free time, a few craft projects or necessary farm tasks. The evening will begin with animal chores as well as preparing the evening meal. As the sun descends on the gardens, the community will gather for dinner. This celebration rewards participants for their day of harvest and prepares them for the next day.

Camp runs Monday through Friday from 10 AM to 7 PM.  This program is offered during August for girls and boys ages 13-15.  The cost of each session is $280/week.
